Tongues Is A Sign For Unbelieving Jews, Is a Sign of Judgement!

God said: Very well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to this people, to whom he said, “This is the resting place, let the weary rest”; and, “This is the place of repose”—but they would not listen. So then, the word of the Lord to them will become: Do this, do that, a rule for this, a rule for that; a little here, a little there— so that as they go they will fall backward; they will be injured and snared and captured. Judgement pronounced upon the Jews (Isaiah 28:11-13)

Pentecost: All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. (Acts 2:4)

Jews asked: Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” (Acts 2:8-11)

Jews asked one another, What does this mean? (Acts 2:12)

Apostle Paul said: Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults. (1 Corinthians 14:20)

Apostle Paul reminded them again God’s prophecy in Isaiah 28:11:

“With other tongues and through the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 14:21)

Apostle Paul final verdict: Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers (the unbelieving Jews) 1 Corinthians 14:22

Prophecy fulfilled: God's judgement came upon Jerusalem in 70AD when the Romans invaded the city, killed millions and destroyed other cities and scattered abroad.
